Lucille Irene Brousseau, a long-time resident of Central Falls, RI passed away peacefully at Rhode Island Hospital on Friday, April 1, 2022 at the age of 96. Lucille was born March 16, 1926 in New Bedford, MA. She was predeceased by her parents, Henri J. and Rosanna Victoria (Surprenant) Foisy, and by all 7 of her siblings: Anita Hamel, Cecile Rock, Roland, Rene, Leo, Raymond and Maurice Foisy. She was also predeceased by her husband Armand L. Brousseau who passed away in December 1981.

Lucille is survived by her four children, Connie B. Beckmann, widow of Robert, of S. Attleboro MA, Dennis A. Brousseau and his husband Edward Pomeroy III of Springfield, MA, David P. Brousseau and his wife Donna of Cumberland, RI, and Roxane B. Larose and her husband Stephen of N Attleboro, MA. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Chelsea Beckmann Smith, Adam, Melissa, and Jarrod Brousseau, Stephen and Charles Larose, and by 2 great grandchildren, Sydney Grant and Victoria Brousseau. Lucille eagerly anticipated the birth of a third great grandchild, baby girl Smith, due in August.

Lucille came to Central Falls at a young age and attended local schools including Notre Dame Elementary School. She obtained her GED later in life. She worked in the office of Blackstone Valley Electric Company until her marriage to Armand in 1948. Lucille was proud of her French-Canadian heritage and enjoyed sharing stories about her life, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lucille enjoyed family, dining out, working in her yard, and cake decorating. She held to her values and was a communicant of St. Matthew’s RC church for 54 years and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. Lucille was fiercely independent and embraced life fully until the very end. "Memere" will live in our hearts forever.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 5th, from 6-8:00 PM in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. The funeral will begin at the Keefe Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 6th at 10am followed by A Mass of Christian Burial that will be held at Holy Spirit Parish at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the RI Veteran’s Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
